SWMEA is a chapter of the National Marine Educators' Association (NMEA), and consists of individuals and organizations found in California, Nevada, Arizona, New Mexico, Utah and Colorado. SWMEA connects aquarium and museum educators and teachers who are dedicated to the world of water and the production of high quality education materials. SWMEA provides a medium for the exchange of ideas and information, and teaching materials for its members. Our mission is "to provide a forum for formal and informal educators to develop and exchange strategies to encourage learning and stewardship of marine and aquatic ecosystems."
